ive learned plenty of new vocabs related to music lately. you know, for a music noob like me, these words represented another level of engaging, understanding & intepreting the world of music.lemme share em' Riff - an ostinato phrase (as in jazz) typically supporting a solo improvisation ; also : a piece based on such a phrase Conservatory - a school specializing in one of the fine arts Tutti -with all voices or instruments performing together —used as a direction in music Concerto -a piece for one or more soloists and orchestra with three contrasting movements Fugal - of, relating to, or being in the style of a musical fugue Carillon - a set of fixed chromatically tuned bells sounded by hammers controlled from a keyboard Clangour - medley of clangs Sonority - (of a sound) deep & full. Overture - the orchestral introduction to a musical dramatic work Imagine next time at the Esplanade concert hall.. Charis : "That piece was sonorous & the overture is quinessentially breath-taking. I am totally captivated by the conductor's fine fervour" Girlfriend(to herself) - *wah charis is so musically and artistically inclined! woo! i like <3* reading blogs ain't a waste of time ;P |
